Review Widget Settings
Open Widget Settings
Section titled “Open Widget Settings”Go to Content Management > Review Widgets, then create or open a widget. Settings are organized into five tabs:
- Setup
- Content
- Appearance
- Behavior
- Preview & Install
Changes do not affect the installed widget until you save them.
- Widget Name identifies the widget inside the portal and is not shown to website visitors.
- Widget Enabled controls whether the installed widget displays reviews.
When you disable an installed widget, it collapses safely on the website. You do not need to remove or reinstall its script. Enable it again and save when you are ready to display it.
Content
Section titled “Content”Choose how FSRevs selects reviews.
Automatic Selection
Section titled “Automatic Selection”Automatic selection keeps the widget current as eligible public reviews change.
Configure:
- Sort Reviews — Newest, Oldest, Highest Rating, Lowest Rating, or Random.
- Minimum Review Length — Set zero to include reviews of any length.
- Locations — Leave empty to use all available locations.
- Review Flows — Use all flows, only selected flows, or all except selected flows.
- Employees — Leave empty to include reviews attributed to any employee.
If you choose Only selected flows, select at least one flow. An empty selection intentionally produces no matching reviews.
Curated Selection
Section titled “Curated Selection”Curated selection gives you a fixed, ordered list of up to 255 public reviews with written feedback.
- Select Add Reviews.
- Search and filter the available public reviews.
- Add the reviews you want.
- Drag them into the preferred order.
- Save the widget.
Adding, reordering, or clearing reviews is staged until you save. Clear also requires a save before the installed widget changes.
If your access allows public-name editing, changing a reviewer’s public name changes it everywhere that review is displayed, not only in the current widget.
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”Choose a layout:
- Simple — Editorial Stack presents a refined single-column list.
- Cloud — Responsive Gallery adapts between one, two, and three columns based on available width.
Rating display can be hidden, shown as star icons, or shown numerically such as 5/5. You can also control whether the widget displays:
- Review date
- Profile photo
- Additional photos
- Customer tagline
- Public team reply
Behavior
Section titled “Behavior”Set how visitors move through longer review lists:
- Turn pagination on or off.
- Choose from 1 to 100 reviews per page.
- Use simple Previous/Next controls or detailed numbered pagination.
- Set the review-length threshold for Read more. Zero shows the full review; roughly 150–300 characters is a practical starting point.
Preview & Install
Section titled “Preview & Install”Use Preview Current Settings to test the current form state, including changes you have not saved. Section preview actions open the same practical-width preview from the section you are working in.
The preview also shows the widget’s disabled or empty state, which helps you confirm how the website will behave before saving.
The installation script becomes available after the widget is saved for the first time. Copy it from Preview & Install, install it once, and manage future review, layout, and behavior changes in FSRevs.
See Review Widgets for installation, CSS tokens, and supported styling hooks.
