Connect Google Accounts and Listings
Before You Start
Section titled “Before You Start”You must be a System owner or Administrator in FSRevs. Use a Google account authorized to manage the business’s listings. Google has its own Business Profile owner and manager roles; these are separate from FSRevs roles.
Connect only businesses you are authorized to manage. Keep unrelated businesses in separate FSRevs workspaces. Google requires authorization for managing listings and responding on a business’s behalf; see its Business Profile policies.
Open Integrations and its Google connection entry, or select Google connections in the Google Reviews toolbar. The destination page is titled Google accounts. If setup is paused, existing connections may remain visible while connection actions are unavailable.
Add a Google Account
Section titled “Add a Google Account”- Select Add Google account.
- Choose the Google account that manages this business and review the requested permissions on Google’s screen.
- Complete authorization and return to FSRevs in the same browser session.
- Check the account card. Account access ready means account authorization is ready; you still need to connect listings below.
If you cancel or the authorization session expires, start again from FSRevs. Do not reuse an old callback link. Cancelling authorization does not create a new listing association.
Finish Background Access
Section titled “Finish Background Access”Finish connecting Google means FSRevs still needs ongoing access to keep reviews up to date after you leave. Select that action and complete Google’s consent step. Review Google permissions means the required permissions were not all granted. Follow the named action and check the account status again.
If the card still needs attention, verify you chose the correct Google account and consult connection troubleshooting.
Connect a Listing to an Existing Location
Section titled “Connect a Listing to an Existing Location”- Select a ready account card.
- In Google listings, find the correct business name and address. Use Refresh listings if necessary, and continue loading when more listings are available.
- Select Connect, Choose Location, or Review and connect, as shown for that listing.
- Choose the Workspace Location.
- Under Use these existing public Google links, select the matching links, or choose Create a public Google review link at this Location when offered.
- Read and confirm the business authorization, then submit the association.
- Check the resulting relationship and use View reviews to open the connected inbox.
Choosing an account or browsing its listings alone does not connect anything. Each selected public review link is an explicit association; other links are not silently included. Global public links are not eligible for authenticated linkage: use a link belonging to a specific Location.
The Workspace locations view helps you inspect existing relationships from the FSRevs side. A listing may show other public links that remain unconnected.
Create a Location from Google
Section titled “Create a Location from Google”The listing connection dialog can start a new FSRevs Location using the selected Google listing. Review the proposed details in the Location form and complete the setup. This creates a Location in FSRevs; it is not a request to create a new business listing on Google.
Check the outcome:
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Location created and connected | Open the Location or its reviews and verify the association. |
| Location created · Google Place ID not available | Use the Location normally; refresh Google listings later to finish connecting when the identifier is available. |
| Location created · Finish connecting Google | Review the pending setup and complete the remaining connection step. |
Do not create duplicate Locations to retry incomplete Google access. Use Review and connect, View setup, or Refresh listings for the existing Location. Dismiss pending setup removes the pending setup item while retaining the Location.
Connect During Registration
Section titled “Connect During Registration”During account creation, Choose from Google lets you connect an account, select this business’s listings, and review the proposed Locations before submitting registration. Multiple Google accounts can be used when needed. Phone lookup and manual entry remain available without connecting Google.
After registration, a Google connection is finishing notice means the authorized setup is still being installed. Finish connecting Google reviews means a fresh authorization step is needed. Follow the notice on the Google accounts page; the workspace already exists. See Creating Your Account.
What Your Authorization Allows
Section titled “What Your Authorization Allows”At the associated Locations, people with Google viewing permission can view profile information, reviews, and performance reports and receive configured alerts. People with Google review management permission can manage review activity and manually post, edit, or delete business replies. System owners and Administrators manage Google accounts and listing connections; local Location management alone does not grant these permissions.
The authorization also covers creating and editing Google listings through actions an Administrator initiates, where available. These listing tools are upcoming and are not currently available. It does not include deleting Google listings. FSRevs may keep connected information up to date in the background and configure review notifications where no destination exists, removing only its own unused configuration during disconnect. Existing authorization records retain the wording originally accepted; new data uses may require further consent.
Multiple Accounts and Reconnection
Section titled “Multiple Accounts and Reconnection”You can add another Google account and select it to discover its listings. Connected through another Google account means a confirmed route already exists, but the selected account has not been authorized for that relationship. Use Add this account’s access when you intend to add that route.
If an account loses access, use Reconnect and complete authorization. Check listing relationships afterward; account readiness alone does not prove every listing is usable. A remaining confirmed account may keep a listing available while another account needs attention.
Detach, Disconnect, or Revoke
Section titled “Detach, Disconnect, or Revoke”| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Detach from Location | Stops authenticated access for that relationship, including replies, monitoring, and pending alerts. The public review link remains. |
| Disconnect | Stops this Google account’s access for the business. Locations with another confirmed account keep that access. Public review links keep working. |
| Remove FSRevs authorization at Google | Changes Google’s authorization grant, which is separate from disconnecting an account inside FSRevs. Review which connected services/accounts depend on that grant before doing so. |
After disconnecting, Access stopped · cleanup pending means functional access has stopped while cleanup finishes. Disconnecting does not delete public Google reviews or published replies. See Troubleshooting if access cannot be restored.
