Google Notifications
Open Google Alert Preferences
Section titled “Open Google Alert Preferences”In Google Reviews, select the Notification preferences bell, or open your user account’s notification settings and find Google reviews & account alerts.
You can manage your own Google preferences when available. System owners and Administrators can manage another user’s preferences. The recipient still needs access to the relevant Locations; receiving a link does not add permission to view or reply.
New Review Alerts
Section titled “New Review Alerts”- Enable Send alerts when a new Google review is found.
- Choose at least one delivery method: in-app, email, or SMS.
- Keep Every Location I can view selected, or choose specific linked Locations. When editing another user, the label is Every Location this user can view.
- Select Save Google alert preferences.
A Location marked Not linked to an active Google account cannot receive connected review alerts. Delivery-method warnings explain missing account setup; selecting a method does not prove it can currently deliver.
Changed Review Alerts
Section titled “Changed Review Alerts”Enable Send alerts when a Google review changes separately. Choose its delivery methods and Location scope, then save. New-review preferences do not automatically enable updated-review alerts.
These alerts concern changes FSRevs observes in a customer’s review. The review can return to Needs attention so you can check whether the business reply still fits. A fresh baseline after old comparison evidence expires does not invent historical change alerts.
Account Attention Alerts
Section titled “Account Attention Alerts”System owners and Administrators also see When a connected Google account needs attention. In-app and email are the default methods; SMS is optional. Clear every method and save to turn these alerts off.
Account alerts concern connection problems rather than a particular new review. A continuing incident can produce an opening notice, a worsening notice if availability changes, a reminder after seven days, and a recovery notice for recipients who remain eligible. A second confirmed account can keep a listing usable even while one account needs attention.
What the Alert Contains
Section titled “What the Alert Contains”Google alerts include the Location name and a secure FSRevs link. Open FSRevs to read the review and respond; messages do not contain copied review or reply bodies. Google review management is still required to reply.
These preferences are separate from Review Flow and Custom Form completion notifications. See Notifications for those settings.
When Alerts Start
Section titled “When Alerts Start”Initial monitoring establishes the existing review history without notifying the team about every old review. New-review alerts apply to reviews created after monitoring starts and discovered within the configured eligibility window, currently seven days. Initial loading can delay delivery until that baseline completes.
Pending alerts currently expire 24 hours after detection. Reconnecting, adding another access route, or re-enabling a feature does not replay a backlog of old alerts. Delivery also depends on active connections, enabled features, current permissions, and the recipient’s delivery readiness.
If an Alert Is Missing
Section titled “If an Alert Is Missing”- Confirm the right event is enabled: new reviews and changed reviews have separate switches.
- Check the recipient’s Location access and saved Location selection.
- Check that the Location has an active Google connection.
- Resolve any email/SMS readiness warning.
- Allow for initial monitoring, provider delays, and queued delivery.
- Open the inbox to check current reviews directly.
A configured notification is not a delivery receipt. If a channel’s delivery outcome is uncertain, FSRevs does not blindly resend it. Permission changes can also cancel pending delivery. Ask support to investigate persistent failures without sharing Google credentials.
